with Coca Cola in California with a broom\, sweeping the floo
rs of the Coca Cola production facility in Vernon\, near Los
Angeles. By the time he finished his career in 1999\, he had
accomplished a transformation that is impossible to imagine
in today’s workplace. With only a high school diploma\, a s
elf-taught understanding of machinery and an unwavering work
ethic\, he achieved multiple promotions during his nearly fo
ur decades of employment. He retired\, having achieved the st
atus of Director of Operations\, and managed hundreds of empl
oyees in multiple Coca Cola facilities across three states.
Tom carefully developed and maintained his Coca Cola collect
ion over 60 years. It has been moved each time he and his wi
fe moved to a new home\, and stored in climate controlled fac
ilities at each new location. At the age of 81\, he is finall
y ready to show his collection\, and share it with a new gene
ration of collectors.
